Sunday Garden Party!!!!

Welcome to my first annual garden party! Thank you all for joining me. I hope you have a wonderful time!

First I would like to show you how uptight my pet human is. This morning, I was sleeping soundly in my favorite spot, when she came home from the red brick place with the steeple and the bells that gong, gong, gong.....and she totally freaked out.

Here's what happened. (my pet human says to tell you that if the slideshow doesn't loop, you can click the > button, then select play after the last slide.)

I am always prepared!

Oh, here is my first guest. It's Sam, The Marmalade Cat.

Uh,oh! No cat fights. Sorry Sam, I am SlyCat's girl now. But please enjoy the refreshments and company!

Over here is the buffet. As you can see there is:

And

And

But best of all there is an entire platter of:

My favorite!
Please take as much as you like. There is more in the kitchen.

Now, I will take you all on a tour of the garden. I have lots of pretty flowers to show you. (again, if the show doesn't loop, select >, then play after the last slide)

OK! Well that was fun. Now for those who wish to join me, I am going to take a group on a tour of the famous foot path on Shelter Island. Lots of pretty gardens there! Many people walk this path every day! (my pet human says.....these people have lots of "moolah" whatever that is, and we don't. but we like to look at their homes and gardens anyway!)

My friend, Rosie, The Tortie, promised to be waiting by her gate to show us her garden. And maybe we will see some wild parrots along the way.
Slideshow #3 (click >, then play)

Isn't that a nice walk? And wow!!! We got to see some wild parrots! Well back to the garden now.

Please everyone, stay as long as you wish. The days are long now, and later this evening, SlyCat will start up the bar-b-que. Relax and enjoy.

Let's also remember that this is Memorial Day weekend. I live in San Diego, which is a Navy town.....oh, yes, Marines too. So let's take a moment to remember our troops overseas and at home.

One brief word about manners. I would appreciate everyone's consideration about this subject. This is a very conservative neighborhood. I have already caught Derby and Princess Mia doing some heavy petting by the rose bushes. And word has it that Monty Q. is showing his full monty to the girls under the lemon tree.

Please! Let's remember decorum!

Cheers!

Luv,

Skittles, thank you for the invitation to your party. You have a lovely yard! Your garden is beautiful!

In Canada, we honour the men and women who serve on Remembrance Day, November 11th, when we also honour all those who have served in the past and who lost their lives for our freedoms. My dad is an officer in the Canadian Forces, so it is a very important day for us.

Good morning Miss Skittles! Thanks for having such a lovely party. Your mum does a good job on the garden. Maybe mum's will look half as good in about 100 years! Loved the tour of all the gardens.

The buffet is terrific and Sly is doing his manly best at the grill. I will have a bit of chicken, but I think I will skip on the lizards.

Now I am going back to sit in the shade with my lovely Princess Mia. Remebmer, kitties are for petting!

Hi Skittles, What a beautiful garden. I have been enjoying myself very much. Monty Q and I have been walking around enjoying all the flowers and sniffing all the herbs. We each relaxed on the nice grass. He wasn't showing the Full Monty to the other girls under the bushes, he passed out when I gave him a little kiss on the cheek. The girls must have found him like that after I went for some ice water for him.

I think he'll be fine now. We'll have a bit to eat and rest in the shade on the deck.

Hi Skittles! I was so afraid I missed everything. My daddy had his bestest friend ever (a Marine) staying at our house this weekend and I had to make sure he had a good time. I'm so very happy that your party, although winding way down is still on.
What a lovely garden you and your mommy have. The parrots look delish, um, I mean pretty too.
Thanks so much for having everyone over. If you don't mind, I'll help your mommy clean up all that milk over there....
