Wildfire Update-Wednesday Morning

Dear Friends,

The fires continue, and currently Interstate 5 (the main north/south drag in California) is shut down in north county. Fire has broken out on the Marine Base at Camp Pendleton, although no Marines have been evacuated. Approximately 3000 military families live on that particular base.

For a truly sobering look at the damage caused, check out this site compiled by the San Diego Union Tribune listing the known addresses of homes destroyed.

The California fires are very scary. I am glad that you are safe so far, but be very alert. This is going to be devastating on the wildlife in the affected areas. It makes me so sad. Congratulations to your human pet on her job.
