DESPAIR

A note from WW, Skittles' Pet Human.

Dear Cat Blogosphere,

Skittles, The Cat asked me to post for her this evening. She is in complete despair over the Derby situation. She is so despondent, she won't even play with her favorite toys.

As of this posting, we still have no word of a decision from Derby.

This is most disturbing because starting tomorrow, Skittles and I will have limited internet access for about two weeks.

For the last three months, Skittles and I have been living in "The OC" (Orange County, CA) taking care of my mother who had double knee replacement surgery. She is all better now, in large part because Skittles was a superior physical therapist. Tomorrow we return to Point Loma, and it will take a while to set up house again.

So, Derby, if by chance you choose Skittles, and you don't hear from her, you know why. I have never seen her like this. She truly loves you.

Sam, The Marmalade Cat of the La Playa neighborhood, anxiously awaits her return.
But she loves Derby.

Skittles and I will return soon.

Skittles has a po box if any secret admirers wish to write:

Syllogism

SYLLOGISM

I am me.

I am just me.

I am a little like other cats.

Other cats do not like marmots.

I like marmots.

Therefore, mostly I am just me.

An Ode To Derby

An Ode To Derby

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That valleys, groves, hills, and fields,
Woods or steepy mountain yields.

And we will sit upon the rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers, and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle;

A gown made of the finest wool
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of th purest gold;

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs:
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and be my love.

The shepherds' swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning:
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

The Biography of Skittles, The Cat

Skittles, The Cat began life in a hard way. She was found as a three month old kitten, starving, in a warehouse adjacent to base housing at the Naval Base in Port Hueneme, California. Her first pet human had been deployed to Iraq, and Skittles was left behind.

Her second pet human fed her, took her home and fell in love with her quirky spirit. Unfortunately, Skittles was still traumatized, and she could not adjust to the other three cats who shared her pet human. She terrorized them until they hid under the bed and cowered. Skittles would then eat all the food. Her aggressive behavior was very anti-social.

Although broken hearted, the second pet human called her best friend. Would she take Skittles? WW, became Skittles' third and current pet human.

WW fell in love, and in an effort to help Skittles, The Cat with her aggressiveness, WW taught her yoga and other relaxation techniques. Now Skittles, The Cat practices Bikram Yoga on a daily basis to help restore her peace and serenity. Here she can be seen perfecting advanced moves.
