Tabby Tuesday

Answers! I'm looking for answers! Are they here in the side yard? Please help!

Yesterday, we visited Morocco, as we have been doing for several Mondays. The Lutheran Surrealist (aka Kirby Olson) came by to visit and comment. He asked a very interesting question:

"Do cats in different cultures reflect the culture they are in?"

I am soliciting comments on this very important subject.

I hope to have comments from some of my visitors from overseas, like Germany, Australia, El Salvador, Japan, to name a few.

Thank you for your thoughts and minds.

Morocco Monday

Welcome back to Morocco Monday.

Today I am featuring some very industrious felines. While my pet human stayed at the Hotel Riad Salam near Ouarzazate (definitely a tongue twister!) she met the Wine Steward of the very posh restaurant in the hotel. (That's Carol saying hello to the wine steward. My pet human has the camera.)

She tried to get a closer profile shot, but the Wine Steward wasn't used to flashes.
Let's try again. Ooooops! No, it's just not going to work this time.
OK, here we meet our tour bus operator, who drove us into the Dades and Todra Gorges to see beautiful granite outcroppings and wild rivers.
And here's my pet human standing on top of the highest sand dune in Morocco and dressed up like the natives!

VOTE FOR THE FORMERLY FERAL! VOTE FOR ME!

With the primaries in full swing, it is now time for me to refocus on my campaign. Soon, I will be facing the winners of the Republican and Democratic nominations.

For those of you who are new to my blog, I am Skittles, The Huntress, and my running mate is SlyCat, of Evanstan, Illinois.

I am the founder of the American Patriot Cat Party (APCP), and we stand for a variety of positions.

First, I founded APCP and entered the Presidential Elections because I believe it is time to bring home our troops from overseas.

I am the only candidate here with a military background (I was born on a naval base) and this background makes me uniquely qualified to be Commander In Chief.

In general, I favor liberal positions on most topics, although on a few topics I am a classical liberal. My Pet Human says I am confused. But more on that in tomorrow's post.

I am the only "fusion" candidate, and I do not mean nuclear fusion. I am a true blending of some very liberal positions, and some traditional classical liberalist positions. Please let me explain the confusion in semantics.

On social issues, I tend to be very liberal. Keep government out of my personal life:

1. I favor pro choice.
2. I favor marriage between two loving, committed individuals
3. I favor ending the war on terrorism, and bringing home the troops. I tend more towards diplomacy, rather than war, although, I will use the our power and troops if truly necessary.

On constitutional issues I tend towards a classical liberalist position:

1. I believe in protecting personal property rights
2. I believe in natural rights
3. I support civil liberties
4. I support constitutional limits on government
5. I believe in individual freedom

These seemingly conflicting positions are in fact complementary. I will post more later.

War on Wednesday

Well, my pet human apparently surrendered in the war. Let's recap:

She posted photos of me "cuddling" with my teddy dog around the end of November. Then she pimped the photo for christmas, adding reindeer antlers and a rose in the teddy dog's mouth.

I retaliated by putting a lizard in her shower, a dead mouse in the living room, and a rat in her shoe. A week goes by, and suddenly she surrenders. Something is amiss.

But hey! I heard from grandma again. She learned how to post comments and left a comment for me on the last post. I can still go live with her.

Here we are cuddling in her chair.
This is a sexy......ummmm.....tummy shot on my favorite plaid blanket, in grandma's family room. I think the plaid sets off my spots beautifully. (I'm dreaming of SlyCat here!!)
Another great tummy shot (aka "full monty") in grandma's garden.
Yes, grandma's garden is verrrrry nice. I think I have an ally in the war. And somehow I don't think the war is over.

Best to all.

From the Pet Human:

OK, Skittles, I surrender in this war. Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa!

Please forgive me for posting the XXXX rated photos of you and the Golden Retriever.

FORGIVE ME OR FORGIVE ME NOT????

p.s. I'm sorry, but the camera is broken, and until I get it fixed I'm recycling old photos of my sweetie. This photo is my all time favorite!

Morocco Monday

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to Morocco Monday!

Today we head out to the Sahara desert. And then on to the resort town of Tineghir.

Here in the Sahara desert we stopped at a local Bedouin camp, and we met the very friendly shop keeper, The Curio Cat.

Across from the shop was the living quarters of the shop owner: Chief Bedouin. Here we catch a rare glimpse of him outside of his tent, and sharpening his claws.

Onward to Tineghir, where we stayed in a lovely hotel with a swimming pool.

Ladies and Gentleman, please meet the Lifeguard.

I think cats are in charge of all of Morocco.

Paaaar-TAY

PAAAAR-TAY!!!!!! Yeah, I love a reason to party.

Sammy and Miles awarded me the Thinking Bloggers Award.

They said it's because I make them laugh out loud, but I don't know what's so funny anyway?

So let's celebrate, and I'll pass on the award to 5 other bloggers.

First, some Schramsberg champagne

Some lobster and shrimps!!!

Grilled salmon

And a pig for Miles!!!

And a ham!!!!

Yeah!

OK, I'm passing on the award to the following very deserving cats:

Gigolokitty: because looking at GK makes me wonder who would ever THINK to do that to their cat?

DKM and the Fluffies: oh, foodies, like me!

Jeter Harris
: a formerly feral tabby done good, just like me, although I'm a Mets' fan because my pet human has a cousin who used to pitch for the Mets.

Derby: I miss feng shui fridays

SlyCat: Well, you know.....he makes me think! (blush, blush!)

And I am passing on honorable mentions to two human blogs:

Lutheran Surrealism: because the Lutheran Surrealist allows everyone to have a say

And

BarbarafromCalifornia
: just really good thoughtful posts and questions. Plus, her Golder Retriever, Argon, is cute!

PARTY ON!!!

Not All Quiet On The Western Front

The war on my pet human continues. She hasn't apologized for posting those photos of me with my Teddy Dog, and causing my dear boyfriend, SlyCat heartache and anxiety.

Well......guess what???? A bomb has been dropped in the war. The Allied Forces have come for reinforcements.

Yesterday, my pet human received an email from her mother, my grandma. Here is what it said:

"Hi, Wendy,

I LOVED the thank you card with pictures from Morocco!!!! It was fun to show it to friends at church yesterday.

Saturday, I purchased two Moroccan cookbooks...Sur la table sent a brochure with a tagine that looks perfect. I look forward to your visit and hope we can go to Sur la table.

I checked Skittles blog this morning....I am sorry about your war and if Skittles needs a new pet human she should call me.
Love, Mom"

Whoa!!!! This puts a new spin on everything. I can go live with grandma. I love grandma's house....did I ever tell you she has bunnies in her yard??? Yeah, I have the world famous wild parrots of Point Loma here, but BUNNIES!!!!!

Anyway, I am considering trading in my pet human. I had several very qualified candidates from the Craigslist ad. She has begged me to keep her on, but still she refuses to apologize. At the very least, I am going to search for a new campaign manager.

Here's a link to the Craigslist ad for a new campaign manager.

Tabby/Tortie Tuesday

Today for Tabby/Tortie Tuesday, we continue our travels in Morocco.

Here in the capitol city of Rabat is the KASBAH of OUDAYA, which is another type of Medina here in Morocco.

The scenes from yesterday's posts were from this Kasbah, and stunning Andalusian gardens exist inside the Kasbah.

Here are several tabbies and torties who live in the beautiful walled medina of Rabat, Morocco.

Wouldn't you say....what a life?!

Oh, my aching head. Bring me my Advil liqui-gels pronto!

I'll get to the bottom of this. Probably the pet human.
