Suitor and Sammy Sunday

Two more spring time suitors showed up. Actually, the Tuxie below is sitting in my favorite spot in the front yard. How dare he!!! (sorry, but my pet human couldn't get a focused photo)Then this guy showed up in the back patio. Man! My pet human can't take a decent photo anymore. All she got was his tail end! He looked like a long haired siamese.
Don't hate me because I'm beautiful! Of course the suitors are after me!

Then there is Sam, The Marmalade Cat. After Friday's post I thought it best to add some information. Perhaps my wording was not clear, especially when I referred to Sammy as a "succussful feral."

This is a relatively safe neighborhood, with no coyotes, or other predators. Sam lives in Bill and Ginny's yard, under Ginny's art studio. He has been there for at least 5 years.

Unfortunately, Sammy just isn't a house cat. But he is treated like family. Heavens knows, when my pet human leaves the doors open, Sammy just waltzes in and eats my food! And I just let him do it!

If Sammy ever started exhibiting signs of starvation, dehydration, or any other ailment, my pet human would find a way to take care of him.

I hope this answers some questions. Oh, and btw: he is fixed, so someone had him at one time.

Still Feral & Flower Friday

You know, every Friday I celebrate the fact that I am FORMERLY feral. But this post is dedicated to Sam, The Marmalade Cat. Sam is wild and feral. He lives next door underneath Ginny's art studio. He manages all on his own, living off of whatever he can catch. He is a successful feral....his weight is good, and he is relatively tame.Of course, Sam has the hots for me. But I love my SlyCat.

Still, Sammy would be a very good boyfriend for a GirlCat. He is an excellent hunter and provider.

So, for all the ferals out there......this post is dedicated to you.

Wordy Wednesday

I am on my way home tonight. So I don't have any new photos to post.

So, now is a perfect time for a SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT.

I am amazed at how many Google searches that lead to my site are: "red rope licorice dispenser." I get hits almost every day now, mostly from the UK, but now some from Australia.

Daisy, The Curly Cat, made a suggestion. Do a post only about red rope licorice and see if the whole world visits my site.
SO HERE IT IS!!!!! A POST SOLELY ABOUT RED ROPE LICORICE.
RED ROPE LICORICE

RED ROPE LICORICE

Maybe some of the lurkers, who come to my site looking for RED ROPE LICORICE DISPENSERS, may actually leave a comment and tell me what's going on!

Photos from Grandma's garden tomorrow.

p.s. the second most popular google search lately is this:

"These 2 guys reared this lion from a baby in England but the authorities would not allow them to keep it once it reached maturity so they were for"

This goes back to this post. But I'm amazed that someone puts almost the entire sentence in to a google search.

Tabby Tuesday

Good Morning to All!!

I'm still at grandma's house. I had to go there because a big tent went over the house.

I demanded to stay, because I know that my pet human really was having a three ring circus! Ha! She must think I'm really dumb. She made me go to grandma's anyway.

I had Sam, The Marmalade cat spy on the place this weekend for me. This is what he saw.

See....A CIRCUS! I just know it. I am so mad at my pet human for not letting me join in.

Anyway, I like grandma's house. Here I am in her herb garden.

This is my favorite spot to sleep....when I visit grandma....it's MY plaid blanket!

Here's a nice panorama of her herb garden.

This stuff is called lavender....I just loooooove how it smells!

I get to come home tomorrow night. Then I will inspect the house for evidence of the secret circus.

Here are some photos of me from other visits to grandma's

Sttrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttcccccchhhhhhh!
Oh, yes....my pet human added something new to her wardrobe today. She called them reading glasses.
"See," I told her, "You are getting old, and here's the proof. You are way to old to be dating. Waaayyyy toooo old."

"Don't be silly, Skittles," she retorted, "age is how you feel. And he's coming over on Thursday for Barbecue, then we're going to a ball game. So behave yourself and be polite to him."

Fat Chance!!! I think there may be a lizard in his pocket Thursday night. And who are you to tell me what to do or how to behave! I'm in charge here!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary, and is the patron saint of Ireland. Patrick was born in Roman Britain. When he was about sixteen he was captured by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping and returning to his family. He entered the church, as his father and grandfather had before him, becoming a deacon and a bishop.

He later returned to Ireland as a missionary, working in the north and west of the island, but little is known about the places where he actually worked. By the eighth century he had become the patron saint of Ireland.

Patrick was born at Banna Venta Berniae. Calpornius his father was a deacon, his grandfather Potitus a priest. (I guess priests could have kids then!! :)) He writes that his faith grew in captivity, and that he prayed daily. After six years he heard a voice telling him that he would soon go home, and then that his ship was ready. Fleeing his master, he travelled to a port, two hundred miles away he says, where he found a ship and, after various adventures, returned home to his family, now in his early twenties.

Legend also credits Patrick with teaching the Irish about the concept of the Trinity by showing people the shamrock, a 3-leaved clover, using it to highlight the Christian belief of 'three divine persons in the one God'

Some interesting tidbits about St. Patrick from Skittles and her admirers.

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY! BE SURE TO STAY SAFE ON THE ROADS....WATCH OUT FOR THOSE CRAZIES FULL OF GREEN BEER!

Lion Sized Love

I thought everyone would enjoy this. It's very touching. These 2 guys reared this lion from a baby in England, but the authorities would not allow them to keep it once it reached maturity. They were forced to give it up. They took it back to Africa and placed it in a wildlife sanctuary. A year later the went to see it and were told the lion would not remember them. Watch the expressions on the lion's face.

There is no sound in the video. But be sure to watch the lion's face and reactions!!
